Perform a Test
Start Testing
After retrieving the correct Customer record click on the "Today's Test" tab.
First, pour the customer's pool/spa water sample into the provided water sample container (or suitable replacement). It is very important the test strip is reacted properly for the most accurate test results.
Select either "pool" or "spa" by clicking on the box just under the "Today's Test" tab.
Next click the green "Run Scanner" button to begin the testing procedure.
First to appear will be the strip reaction instructions and the timer to insure proper development time for the strip (make sure the white strip tray of the scanner is out).
Carefully dip the strip horizontally (on it's edge, like cutting with a knife, pads to the left) into the water sample as shown below.
It is very crucial to dip strip properly for accurate test results.
Remove strip from water very slowly as to prevent water bubbles from forming on the pads. Next turn the strip so the pads are facing up. DO NOT PUT STRIP INTO SCANNER YET! Press the "Start Timer"
button and wait until the timer stops and the instruction screen notifies the operator to place strip into right channel of the scanner.
Make sure the strip is properly aligned in the channel and slid all the way forward. Slide white tray back into the scanner and click "Scan Strip".
The scanner will scan the reacted test strip twice, then return to the "Today's Test" screen displaying the six scanned test results.
Manually Entered Tests
Test results for copper, iron, TDS, salt, phosphates, borates, and nitrates, can manually be entered at this time using a suitable test kit. Also visual water conditions can be input at this time.
You can also enter the six standard scanned tests manually if scanner is not connected.
Click on the "Calculate Test"
A new window, giving the operator a second chance to review the visible conditions; algae, clarity and stains will appear. Here the operator may ask addition questions, filter clean, scum line, loosing
water, is this test for a start up of a new pool, an opening or closing of the pool. The opening/closing will print a complete guide for these procedures.
Click the "Calculate again, to view the list of chemical products and correct dosages to balance the pool/spa.
If the customer needs to purchase any of the recommended products, just click on them in the display list. The will be saved and displayed in the window to the right of the list. Save the test then click "Print".
The printout displays the dealer information, home owner's name and pool/spa information, tests performed and test results, amount of corrective chemicals for the pool/spa size, the order of chemical
application to balance the pool or spa. There is also a weekly maintenance schedule or pool opening or closing to aid the home owner in keeping their pool/spa in balance and algae free.
